The Red Gum Food Group (RGFG) is a passionate group of food producers and enthusiasts from Koondrook-Barham that are dedicated to putting our region on the food map.
Our vision is ‘to link local producers and food enthusiasts to work together to promote Koondrook-Barham as a food destination.’
Our members are from all walks of life but all share the same passion for food and building our regions identity as a food destination. For membership details click here.
Koondrook-Barham is surrounded with plentiful and productive agricultural land, and even though faced with severe drought, increased production costs and imports, our farmers have adapted and thrived to be the spine of our regions food bowl. By recognising their efforts through promoting their produce through the Farmers Market and other RGFG events we aim to preserve agricultural land for the future generations. Throughout the year we will host skills workshops, cooking classes, seasonal lunches, farm walks and work towards higher profile events with Melbourne Food and Wine in order to create a strong network of like minded people in our community.
